Pastors Michael & Amy Scarlett
The Scarletts came to Hilltop in February 2021 after serving “on loan” with the United Methodist Church in SE Idaho. Michael is the senior pastor and Amy is an associate pastor. They are both ordained elders in the Church of the Nazarene. Michael and Amy have been married for twenty-one years and have three boys. Their passion is to authentically live in the way of Jesus for the sake of the world–especially for the Tyler area.
They co-pastored a church they planted together in the DFW Metroplex, co-pastored in Mansfield, TX, and Michael pastored the Pocatello First United Methodist Church and Amy was the director of the Wesley House Methodist Campus Ministry Center at Idaho State University.

Our Theological Commitments

The Church of the Nazarene is a Protestant Christian church in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition. Organized in 1908, the denomination is now home to 2.7 million members worshiping in more than 30,000 local congregations in 165 world areas.
Since the earliest days of the Church of the Nazarene, our denomination has had three core values that have guided us through the years: We are a Christian people. We are a Missional people. We are a Holiness people.
We are tethered to the historic orthodox Christian Faith expressed through the ancient Christian Creeds.
We believe that God’s mission is to invite all into the new world God is bringing through Jesus’ death and resurrection.
We see the Christian life as a response to live from and live by God’s holy love for the world that compels us to give ourselves fully to God for the transformation of our lives and the world.

A thriving congregation, growing together as a family.
No matter your age or status, we believe that you’ll feel welcome and at home with us. We have Sunday School for every age from nursery to seasoned citizens.

NazareneSafe
It is our intent, as Hilltop Church of the Nazarene, to create a safe environment for all children & families that we serve. We are proactively creating a safe environment through active protection policy, screening process, criminal/sexual background checks, and awareness training. The program we use, NazareneSafe, exists to equip local churches in enforcing their policy, and creating safe environments for God’s family.
